Dear shrines and temples,

Are you interested in boosting Goshuin Project?
We have been held "Goshuin Event" 3 times by 2025, in which shrines/temples distribute their original goshuin all together.

Now, you can see many goshuin followers who visit shrines/temples to expect a goshuin stamp even after the event.

Under this situation, they need a guide that introduces shrines/temples which always distribute a goshuin stamp for the full year.

However, the shrines/temples in SL do widely vary in style, character, etc.

That's why we have the following 2 ways. You can join this project in whichever way that is suitable for you.

💠Requirements

  • You must approve our idea and cooperate with our activity.

  • You must distribute a goshuin event at least when we hold an event, such as new year season.

  • During an event, you are asked to promote the project by distributing a goshuin stamp, only when you feel like it.

  • You are recommended to transmit information by yourself on SNS.
    * If you don't use a SNS, please send the information and then we will post it instead.

💠How to join us

  1. Prepare for distributing a goshuin stamp

    • YOU MUST READ THROUGH THIS PAGE, and understand how to distribute a goshuin stamp. During an event, a goshuin texture name must start with "G." Thank you for your cooperation in advance.
      (Ex.) Aozora Shrine's goshuin texture name will be "G-Aozora-Shrine".

    • If you are joining us for the first time and would like us to give some advice, please contact us and we will help you up to 2 times.
      ​

  2. Get new year event's information
    We will open the event information about 2 months ahead. Please check the date, how to apply (web form for guests), etc. Our next event will be the 2026 New Year Event and announced around November.
     

  3. Transmit the event information

    From 3 days ahead the event to the ending date, please post your information (*1) via SNS etc (*2).
    (*1) Location name (JP/EN), SLurl, Open period, etc.
    (*2) X, Flickr, Primfeed, Facebook, your website, etc.
     

  4. Share the post url

    When you write a post on SNS/website, please send the post's URL via the web form exclusive to the event guests.
     

  5. Check your information on the Event Limited Destinations List

    Your information will be available on the event limited destinations list when the event starts. The list will be closed when the event finishes.

💠Requirements

  • You must approve our idea and cooperate with our activity.

  • You must own a permanent open shrine/temple and maintain it until the next new year goshuin event.

  • Meaning, you must basically join the new year goshuin event.

  • You must create and distribute a new goshuin at least seasonally (4 times a year).

  • You are recommended to transmit information by yourself on SNS.
    * If you don't use a SNS, please send the information and then we will post it instead.

  • ​You must join in-world supporter group.

  1. Create a new goshuin 
    Prepare for a new goshuin texture.
     

  2.  Apply for a supporter

    • 2025 New Year Goshuin Event Participants
      If you want to change your PR photo and description,please       submit the supporter application form.
      Otherwise, please send a notecard to GoshuinProject and just write you'd like to become a supporter :)

    • Others
      YOU MUST READ THROUGH THIS PAGE, and understand how to distribute a goshuin stamp.Then you can submit the form. If you are joining us for the first time and unsure how/what to do, please contact us and we will help you up to two times.

       

  3. Application accepted
    You will be contacted in-world after the application is accepted, if there is no error.

  4. Check your information on the Online Destinations List
    Your information will be available on the online destinations list as the locations that are always open to visit.
     

  5. Announce a new goshuin

    If you distribute a new goshuin, please let us know too, preferrably by sending a notecard to GoshuinProject. If you use X-Twitter, write a post with a hash tag #SL_GoshuinP, then you don't have to send a notecard. At once we find your goshuin renewal information, we will put the update information on our website top page, write an X post and induce users to visit your location.
     

  6. ​Other requests

    • You must join in-world supporter group for contact purpose.

    • You will get a supporter number "Sxx" which will be noted on the left side of your shrine/temple name. This is unchanged unless you leave our project, so please always remember it.

    • The goshuin texture name must start with this supporter number.
      (Ex.) Supporter number S01 Warbunton Shrine: "S01 warbunton Shrine - 2025 Apr."

    • Please prepare for the new year goshuin event.

    • The first goshuin renewal date on the list will be written as follows:

      • Applied by March 31st, 2025 --> 2025/04/01

      • Applied on and after April 1st, 2025 --> The date you applied
         

  7. ​Leave the project

    We kindly ask you to be with us at least until the next new year event. However, if you are faced with a situation that makes it difficult, please don't hesitate to contact us. If you don't make a special request, we will count you as a supporter next year too.

The below is some basical tips to distribute a goshuin.

How to Distribute a Goshuin in Second Life

As is noted here , a Goshuin is given by shrines and temples as a memento/proof of visiting there. They stamp their seal on the visitor's stampbook with the date, the shrine/temple name and the name of who they enshrine in ink. Sometimes they draw a beautiful picture too. We hoped to enjoy this Goshuin culture in SecondLife, so established the following system.

  1. Get a Goshuin Stampbook​: A staff member of the Goshuin Project provides a free [Goshuin Stampbook (Object)] on Marketplace. Visitors should first get it, so that they can collect and display a goshuin later in it.

  2. Prepare a Goshuin: A shrine/temple owner creates their original [Goshuin Texture (png/jpg file)] and set it up in a [Goshuin Giver (Object)] to distribute it to visitors.

  3. Receive a Goshuin: Visitors travel around shrines and temples and collect the goshuin texture from the Goshuin Giver.

  4. Browse a Goshuin:  Visitors can anytime enjoy the goshuin they collected by packing them in the goshuin stampbook and using it.

If you'd like to distribute your original Goshuin, please follow the steps below. We are also offering "Goshuin Distribution Startup Kit" with some useful tools, available for free on the Marketplace. Please make use of it.

<Goshuin> Start up Kit

 Step 1. Create a Goshuin Texture 

Using typical goshuin as a reference, create an original goshuin texture for your shrine or temple. It is recommended to include elements such as the name of your shrine or temple and the season (or time) of the visit. You are free to use fonts other than calligraphy-style ones, and it’s perfectly fine if the text is not in Japanese. Let your creativity shine!

Reference for non-Japanese speakers:

 ⚜️Texture Specifications and Requirements:

  • Size: Square, 512px × 512px recommended

  • Title: No restrictions, but consider one that will be convenient for recipients.

  • Permissions: Copy / Modify / Transfer (Full Permissions: REQUIRED)

 Step 2. Set Up a Goshuin Giver 

Set up a Goshuin Giver, a device to distribute the goshuin texture created in Step 1 for free, somewhere outstanding within your location. The Startup Kit includes a sample Goshuin Giver, so feel free to use it.

Step 3. Set Up an Object for Opening the Marketplace Web Link

Rez the "Marketplace Stampbook site open" object included in the Goshuin Distribution Startup Kit somewhere obvious within your location. When touched, it shows a Marketplace web link, displaying a list of related items created by project-supporting creators. We highly recommend you to place this object for the visitor's convenience.
